The ministries of Calvin Presbyterian Church aim to help us grow as children of God, as brothers and sisters, and as neighbors.

How We Grow as Children of God

Sunday Gatherings

We gather together at 10 a.m. each Sunday to worship the one, true, living God. Our services include congregational singing, Scripture reading, prayer, and biblical teaching centered on God's Word. We seek to glorify Christ in all that we do, encouraging one another through worship and growing together in faith. Whether you have followed Jesus for many years or are simply exploring Christianity, you are welcome to join us as we worship, learn, and fellowship together.

Sunday School + Children’s Church

Sunday School is offered for children 5 years and older at 9 a.m., as well as for adults, on Sunday mornings during the school year. Nursery is available during the Sunday School hour for children aged 4 and under. Children's Church meets during the regular 10 a.m. Sunday service for kids ages 5 years - third grade. During the teaching portion of the worship service, children are invited to gather separately for a time of worship and Bible teaching just for them. A leader escorts children from the sanctuary before the sermon and returns them during the final song.

Small Groups

Small group gatherings happen informally, in members’ homes throughout the week, as well as at the church. There are groups for men and women as well as couples and families. Some groups choose to focus on a theme or read a particular book together.

Meals

The congregation eats meals together regularly. Depending on the season, lunch or dinner is offered on Sunday, or there may be mid-week potlucks.

Calvin administrates several outreach programs and supports a variety of ministries and faith-based organizations in Corvallis and beyond through prayer and financial partnership.

Ministry Partners

Asante Kids

Since 2003, Calvin Presbyterian Church members have paid school fees for students in Kampala, Uganda.

We work with local partners through Streams of Life Church to facilitate this program.

Many students in this program complete high school and continue their education at trade schools or universities and continue to receive support.

The Asante Kids program also includes a Special Needs Fund, which can cover students’ housing, transportation, feminine care products, medical needs, meals, school supplies, uniforms, and more.

Asante Kids program participants and their sponors exchange letters a few times each year, and some have gone on to develop more involved relationships as friends and mentors.

Support for Local Internationals

The Nations are in Corvallis. As we strive to intentionally love immigrants and visitors within our community, a group of Calvin members meets regularly to pray for international people groups and investigate ways to serve and walk alongside them.
