Deacons at Calvin Presbyterian Church are called to be loving servants to the body of Christ. Their job is to facilitate a family quality among the congregation through a ministry of sympathy, encouragement, witness, and caregiving.
New Sunday School Class Set for Fall
Starting in September, Pastor Zach Washburn will lead a new Sunday School class for adults at 9 a.m. each Sunday titled, “The Author and the Story.”
Last year’s class focused on spiritual practices. Zach says that class was more “right brain discipleship.”
“So, this year, we’re doing more left-brain discipleship,” he says. “We plan to continue to alternate in coming years.”
This class will focus on the Nicene Creed, and its role as a universally-acknowledged profession of faith and a foundational statement of Christian faith.
Family Updates
In July, Katie and Christian Rude welcomed son, Joel. A mealtrain is ongoing for the family. July also held two weddings for the Calvin family.
